it's really odd for me as a medical professional to be excited about something involving the word "cancer", but i am.  we've made it through gemini.

finished savannah's hat last night and it turned out really well.  got lost in the pattern a couple times and had to undo several rows but was able to figure out where i made the mistake and fix it with minimal swearing.  it was my first time to attempt lace knitting, and i doubt that i'll be making anything bigger than a preemie hat anytime soon.

had my last perinatalogist appointment today!  cervix remains unchanged since the eighth of april.  whoo-hoo!  but, i'm still on modified bedrest until i hit 36 weeks.  part of me thinks this is a load of bollocks, and that my first measurement of 41 mm was inaccurate.  if i (and i guess bernie has some say as well) ever decide to become pregtastic ( Read more... )

today marks my thirtieth week of gestation -- three more to go until super scary time is over, six more until bedrest can be lifted no matter what, and ten more until turtle's due date.  tomorrow marks my third week anniversary of bedrest and is also our third cervical ultrasound appointment.  i found myself smiling foolishly in the bathroom ( Read more... )

called baby doc this am and talked with her around noon.  she agreed with perinatalogist that steroids were a good idea given my positive ffn test yesterday.  we went over a few things in regards to the change in bed rest status (a stricter form of modified) and my frustration/confusion surrounding the often conflicting advice that i've gotten from ( Read more... )

we went to the doctor this morning to get checked again for effacement.  i think that i got about four hours of sleep last night -- i tossed and turned for quite some time and kept on having horrible nightmares.  i got up at three-thirty this morning to pee and then spent an hour shivering in bed, convinced that i was going to have le bebe today ( Read more... )

j and gio came over last night to keep me company while the bear is in la.  strangely, although bear was gone, their visit brought a touch of normalcy to my day.  we went to rainbow (i got little g's!) and then had dinner at sparky's  i splurged and got chili-cheese fries to share and a patty melt.  i am anemic, so a patty melt was good for me.  i ( Read more... )

the saga of sea turtle so far . . .

• found out i was pregnant on october 27th.  much joy and rejoicing
• starting feeling nauseous around november 4th.  normal stuff for being about 6 weeks pregnant
• the weekend of november 10th and 11th was not good.  constant nausea, vomiting and the beginning of stomach pain
